Hello everyone.

Today we are hopping along with Heffy Doodle and friends to give you some inspiration using the latest Heffy Doodle release.

To see more from Heffy Doodle (CLICK HERE!) to visit their website and see all the fun products NEW and old.

BLOG HOP DETAILS:

To be entered to win the giveaway, all you need to do is comment at each stop along the Blog Hop before May 20th, 2022 at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be announced on the Heffy Doodle Blog on May 21st at 10:00 AM EST!

Blog Hop Lineup:

Background:

To start this card I grabbed a piece of heavyweight white cardstock and cut it to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches. I used the Broad Strokes stencil by Heffy Doodle to ink blend some heat waves to set the scene. I used yellow and orange inks to accomplish this task.

I then cut the Tree-mendous tree die out of Kraft cardstock and used brown inks to blend a little color onto the die cuts. I mostly concentrated this ink on the sides of the tree trunk. To complete the tree I used the border die from the same set to cut some foliage for the top of the tree. I used a dark blue green cardstock. I also ink blended some of that brown ink onto this section of the tree to give it more depth. I also splattered it with brown and dark blue green ink. I like how this gives the look of leaves. Also, I love splatters.

The outside frame of our scene is the NEW Go Wild A2 Frame die set. It makes a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch jungle like frame around your card front. Perfectly sized for A2 cards. I added some dark blue ink to the outside edges of the frame to add depth and to be consistent along with the other die cuts featured on this card.

Sentiment:

Before adhering everything together I stamped the "wishing you a koality birthday" from the Koalaity Hugs stamp set directly onto the trunk of my tree. I stamped it using watermark ink and heat embossed it using white embossing powder.

Focal image: (the Koala)

I stamped this little cutie from the Koality Hugs stamp set using alcohol marker friendly ink. I stamped it onto Heffy Doodle Alcohol Marker friendly paper. I used my alcohol markers to color him and I've listed them for you to reference if you would like to know exactly which markers where used.

Background:

I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock cut to 3 1/2 by 4 3/4 inches. I used the Wild Side stencil to create the animal print along with brown distress oxide ink. I ink blended the brown over the Kraft but I also loved black and gray on gray. Those will be backgrounds for another day.

Sentiment:

The sentiment was everything to me when I had the idea to create this card. I also love the idea of a "wild thing" card. I used the Go Wild die that comes with the frame used on the first card. I cut it from white cardstock and stacked several layers together to create my own chipboard word and exclamation point. I did not use the "go" as you can see here in the photos. I wanted it to say "born to be wild". I used the stamp from the Wild at Heart sentiment set but I cut the wild off of the stamp. I just used the "born to be". I stamped it using watermark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

I used one of the circles from the Heffy Doodle Circle Frame dies to cut a circle element to live behind my sentiment. This helped me turn the sentiment into more of a focal image. I layered these pieces together onto the card panel and then attached the entire card panel to a white card base cut to size A2 and scored in a top folding orientation.

I hope that I've inspired you to create something today. Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you will continue hopping for more inspiration.

Koren

I really appreciate the shading you add to the exterior of your design. It really gets the eye to follow it in!

Great cards - I love the stenciled background and bold sentiment of the second card though!
